Brownsburg In (May 26th, 2021)

Shortly before 5:30pm this evening officers from Brownsburg police department were dispatched to Arbuckle Park for a report of shots fired. While officers were in route it was updated that a person had been shot. We were given information of a possible suspect vehicle ta was seen fleeing the area. That information was broadcast to our officers who were able to initiate a traffic stop on that vehicle. Subsequently it was not a suspect vehicle, it was actually the vehicle containing the victim. Four juvenile males were located inside the vehicle, one juvenile was found to be suffering from an apparent gun shot wound and transported to the hospital. The crime scene investigators and detectives are working diligently out here, interviewing many potential witnesses, gathering any additional information that may be able to ascertain to lead us to the individual responsible for this shooting this afternoon.

Preliminary findings indicate that this was an isolated incident, and there is no threat to the community at large. The BPD requests that anyone with any information regarding this event contact the Brownsburg Police Department (317) 852.1109 x2123
