NWHSC Board (Tri-West) Terminates Tyler Bruce Employment

North West Hendricks School Corporation Board of Trustees met this evening at Tri-West Middle School at 6:30 pm.  The meeting was limited to 50 people due to coronavirus outbreak concerns, the meeting lasted 4 minutes and 13 seconds.

Mr. Diagostino opened the Tri-west School Board special meeting with all members present. The special meeting had 3 items this evening. The first item was employee discipline of Tyler Bruce. The recommendation of the Superintendent is to place Mr. Bruce on unpaid suspension and cancel his teaching contract. The motion passed with one member abstaining.

The second item was two resolutions on flexible leave due to the coronavirus outbreak. Both resolutions were approved by all members. The last item was the approval of the new Superintendent’s contract which was approved. With no other items, the meeting was adjourned.
 


Tri-West High School teacher and coach Tyler Bruce was arrested on preliminary charges of child seduction and obstruction of justice.

The Hendricks County Sheriff’s Office launched its investigation into Tyler Bruce after receiving an anonymous tip on May 12, 2019 involving allegations of sexual misconduct with a student. Tyler Bruce’s trial is scheduled for April 29, 2020.
