Today Brownsburg Youth Sports (a non-profit tax-deductible entity comprised of Brownsburg Little League Baseball (BLLB) and Brownsburg Girls Softball League (BGSL)) announced their plans for a 60-acre baseball & softball complex. Their plan serves 1400+ kids, all existing programs, with a tentative opening date of mid-2026.

Their proposed design depicts an illuminated complex consisting of 6 little league fields (above left) and 6 softball fields (above right).  It also includes two combination concessions & restroom buildings, two outlying batting cages, multiple dugouts, bleachers, 600 space gravel parking and a shared maintenance building. Three retention ponds are also shown. This parcel is north of Brownsburg located north of the intersection E CR 700N & N CR 900E along the Ronald Reagan Parkway.

The site was previously owned by the Brownsburg Community School Corporation. Both parties (Brownsburg Baseball Little League and Brownsburg Girls Softball) pooled their resources and purchased the land from BCSC in early fourth quarter of 2023.  At the same time BCSC agreed to purchase 10.68 acres (1001 South Odell Street) from Brownsburg Youth Softball.

This most recent success differs significantly from an earlier unsuccessful attempted purchase of the same grounds – neither the Town of Brownsburg nor Brownsburg Parks were involved in this effort.  Tax payer dollars were not used in any way toward the purchase nor are their use anticipated to meet expenses related to ongoing maintenance & upkeep. >> Click Here << for our coverage of the prior purchase attempt.

Funding Drive Announced

The leadership team also announced their funding drive Play Ball Brownsburg!, where they are accepting donations, seeking corporate sponsors, partners, donors of all sizes, plus engaging anyone else looking to get involved.

Their website also notes a “Campaign Cabinet” consisting of community members and business leaders who have committed their time and talents to the project.  >> Click Here << to view the list of members.

“Little League Baseball is the heart and soul of Brownsburg. Playing with and against my friends in a fun environment will always be some of my fondest baseball memories. This project is crucial in giving kids an opportunity to play in a fun and supportive situation that fosters proper development and a love for the game that is not prioritized in today’s world.”

Once this phase is completed, their website notes plans for another 42 acres of future expansion (not depicted in current renderings). This additional area to provide space for future fields and facilities for other sports, their stated long-term goal to create an impressive destination venue for a variety of events.
