Brownsburg will soon welcome a WAWA convenience store at 60 East Garner Road, near the intersection of Hwy 267 & 700N in early 2025.

This location is currently home to the State Bank of Lizton. This facility will be razed to make way for the new store. The State Bank of Lizton recently announced expansion plans of main campus and a consolidation of their offices in Brownsburg.

How did the company get it’s name Wawa? Wawa is named after Wawa, Pa., where the first Wawa, a dairy, was founded. The town in Pennsylvania was so named because that’s what the local Native American tribe called a the Canadian Goose.

What are they known for?  Family-like atmosphere, built to order fresh food and beverages, competitive fuel pricing, community devotion, emotional connection with customers.

Stores offer a built-to-order, fresh food kitchen featuring its hoagies; Wawa coffee; the Sizzli, Wawa’s hot breakfast sandwich; Wawa’s new line of specialty hot, cold, iced and frozen beverages; the Wawa Bakery; and Wawa’s beverage line of dairy products, juices and teas, plus packaged goods and fuel services, among other amenities.

Based in Pennsylvania Wawa has about 1,000 stores primarily in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, Florida, and Washington, D.C. Wawa opened their first store more than 59 years ago in Folsom, Pennsylvania. Wawa aims to have approximately 1,800 locations by 2030.
