Kroger Begins Brownsburg Expansion
November 24, 2020
The Town of Brownsburg announced today they issued a building permit for a new Kroger store to be built at the location formerly occupied by Kmart. Immediately crews began site preparations by installing parameter fencing around the property lines. Kroger plans the demolition of the old Kmart building will begin in a few weeks.
Kroger intends to construct a new store of approximately 100,000 square feet. The new building represents an approximate 28,000 sq. ft. size increase over the existing store. Improvements will include a drive up pharmacy located on the far north of the building (where Kmart’s garden center was located) more handicap parking spaces, improvements to the site with upgraded landscaping and parking lot islands, and enhancements to the elevation to bring the store into a more modern set up.
