What: Rob Kendall an Indianapolis talk radio host announced his separation from WIBC.
When: February 03, 2026
Summary: Rob Kendall a polarizing voice who often fed on controversy, announced today was his last day of employment. After nine years on 93.1 WIBC, he pointed unanswered questions toward station owner Urban One, and hinted that “amazing things” are already in the works.
Brownsburg – A longtime voice on Indianapolis radio is gone — at least for now. Kendall the co-host of the 9am to Noon Kendall and Casey show on 93.1 WIBC announced that his final day with the station has arrived. Ending a nine-year run that helped build what he described as his “radio family”.
In a public message to listeners, Kendall expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve as their voice and advocate. “Being your voice, using my platform to speak up for you, to take on the powerful, the connected, the politicians, has been the greatest honor of my professional life,” the statement read.
The departure followed his recent several weeks unexplained absence from the show, which spurred listener questions, support and reaction. Kendall said he was “moved by the outcry” from those who pushed for the show to continue, suggesting the decision may have surprised members of the audience. However, no specific reason for the exit was disclosed.
Those seeking answers were directed to Urban One, the station’s parent company. As of now, no public explanation has accompanied the announcement.
During his tenure, he credited loyal listeners for strong ratings and for backing advertisers connected to the program — a relationship he said created an “unbreakable bond.” Despite the farewell, the message struck a forward-looking tone.
“We have some amazing things coming soon,” Kendall wrote, adding that the connection with listeners is “so much bigger than any singular platform or frequency.”
While details about the next chapter remain under wraps, the hint of future opportunities signals this may not be the last time Central Indiana hears from the veteran broadcaster.
For WIBC, the departure marks a notable programming change. For listeners, it closes a significant era — but may also signal the beginning of a new one.

Big mistake. Whether you loved him or hated him, fans of talk radio tuned in to see what the heck was going to come out of his mouth next. There was brilliance and nuttiness. The guy is entertaining as heck.

I really didn’t care for rob’s way of stating his opinion but way better then Jim ! He’s trying to be rob but it doesn’t work.

I liked how Rob didn’t mince words, he’ll be missed and yes he was a jackass. Lol
Hard to tolerate the frequent pfizer&cdc commercials and the obnoxious self-obsessed rambling hosts. More Denny Smith and Gun Guy type shows would lure me back, and to cover local politics in a manner that doesn’t grate the nerves.

WIBC is now a sad empty shell of the greatness it once held.
Bill C.
Not what I would call a deep thinker. Babbled a lot, had limited life experience and talked about himself way too much. He was filling time/space until WIBC could find an alternative.
Denton M.
Anyone that didn’t see this coming months ago wasn’t paying attention.
Rick H.
There is waaaaay more to this than a contract dispute.
Eugene K.
I’m done with WIBC.
Mike E.
Thank God he’s gone!! Arrogant bastard!

And there’s alot of people not happy about it.
The ones that are, are the 1s with something to hide

Liked his message. Hated his delivery.

Couldn’t have happened to a more deserving guy.
