Brownsburg Warehouse Damaged By Storm

At approximately 9:30pm this evening reports of a partial structure collapse with potential entrapment was received by Hendricks County Dispatch. Multiple units arrived on scene to a missing wall and roof. This incident is located at the western and southern most portion of Sur La Table Warehouse near 901 East North Field Drive.

Residents are advised to avoid the area, as the scene remains active.


UPDATE 11:17pm

Wednesday evening, three people were rescued from Sur Le Table, after a portion of the building was destroyed when a possible tornado passed through Brownsburg.

Rescuers took more than one hour to reach one of the victims.

Portions of the southern and western most wall and roof are missing, with sections of the roof blown onto Northfield drive and into the Home Goods warehouse across the street. Ceiling waterpipes were broken, flooding the floor with water. The interior of the building received significant damage easily viewed from Northfield drive.

Multiple vehicles were also damaged in the parking lot.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the area approximately 9:10pm.

The Brownsburg Sur La Table warehouse distributes cookware, bakeware, cutlery, dinner ware, and other items.

UPDATE 11:59pm
Around midnight Brownsburg Police published a social media post which read:

“Emergency personnel are responding to multiple calls. Power lines are down and several areas are damaged. Avoid traveling through Brownsburg.”

UPDATE 3:30am
• Multiple areas in and around Brownsburg remain without power.
• Homes are damaged on Main Street section of roofing in street
• Numerous trees damaged in neighborhood surrounding Northfield Warehouses
• John Force Headquarters and Kids Planet sustained significant damage.
• Public Safety reports an excess of 50+ runs since the storm event
