Hendricks Regional Health Announces HRH Brownsburg Opening at Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce
The Brownsburg Chamber of Commerce meeting on October 18th featured guest speaker Gary Everling of Hendricks Regional Health. Gary is the Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer for Hendricks Regional Health hospital. He began his speech discussing the emergency department, and the emergency physician team led by Dr. David Farman, who is president of the group. He then moved to his vision, which is for Hendricks Regional Health to be “our community’s indispensable healthcare partner”. The hospital and its staff are very community based and want everyone to feel welcome at their hospital. He also spoke about the mission of Hendricks Regional Health, which is to “improve the health of our region through the provision of high quality healthcare in a compassionate, technologically advanced and efficient environment”.
The hospital will be opening in early December, and will be the only hospital in the county to have a side by side Emergency Department and Immediate Care Center. It will also enable Brownsburg to stay local with their healthcare, rather than driving to Avon or Danville. Other services offered by the hospital include radiology, cardiac rehab, orthopedics and sports medicine, and rehabilitation services such as physical and occupational therapy. The hospital will not be able to perform surgeries when it opens. There will also be a positive economic impact for the town, as it contributes to the development of Ronald Reagan Parkway and its overall plan of industrial, service, retail and commercial development, and begins the process of creating permanent job opportunities for the area. The new hospital itself will employ more than one hundred people.
Mr. Everling also discussed the upcoming events to lead up to the opening of the hospital. On Friday, November 10th, there will be a HRH Foundation Gala, which is an annual event and this year will feature bands from the 1970s and 80s, including Foreigner. Other events were the HC Business Leader’s Cover Party on November 16th, the public open house on November 19th, and then the ribbon cutting on December 4th. Gary also talked about the future outlook, including possible expansion on the thirty-five acre property they own.
See the Hendricks County Regional Hospital Foundation’s (link below) for more information on their opening Gala. All proceeds raised at this year’s Gala will benefit our new Telestroke Program as HRH continues to provide cutting-edge emergency care to our community. Through partnerships with local EMS agencies, Telestroke uses mobile technology to diagnose stroke patients while they are still in the ambulance, helping to deliver critical clot-busting treatment faster than ever before. Sponsorship and Tickets are still available.
