Brownsburg Fire Territory Ambulance Accident – <\/p>\n

On Sunday, January 11th at approximately 5 a.m., A Brownsburg Fire Territory Medic 134 was returning to its station after completing a call for service. Road conditions at the time were extremely hazardous, with ice covering the roads.  The rural roads had yet to be treated by the county highway department.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

While traveling on 550 E, the ambulance lost control after encountering icy conditions, struck a guardrail, and overturned into a creek. There was no patient in the ambulance at the time of the incident.<\/p>\n

A full response from Brownsburg Fire Territory units was initiated. The two crew members in the ambulance were safely extricated from the vehicle using a ladder and were transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, per protocol. Both crew members are reported to be in good condition.  <\/p>\n

Given the damage to the vehicle, it has been taken out of service.<\/p>\n
