Halloween Safety Tips!<\/h2>\n

Attention Trick or Treaters!<\/strong><\/p>\n

During Trick or Treating hours, 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM, be sure to visit our Firefighters at Station 131 located at 55 East Main Street!<\/p>\n

They will be handing out candy, and you\u2019ll have a chance to see the trucks and interact with our Firefighters and Paramedics!<\/p>\n

Have fun tonight, be extremely safe, and Happy Halloween!<\/p>\n

Safety Tips for Drivers:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be alert for trick-or-treaters and other pedestrians.<\/p>\n

Slow down and scan the road. Remember: Slower speeds save lives.<\/p>\n

Watch for young trick-or-treaters in unexpected places. Children may be unaware of traffic and dart into the street unexpectedly.<\/p>\n

If you see a drunk driver, call 911.<\/p>\n

Safety Tips for Pedestrians:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before festivities begin, create a \u201cbuddy system\u201d to get each other home safely and prevent walking alone.<\/p>\n

Follow the rules of the road and obey signs and signals.<\/p>\n

If possible, cross streets at crosswalks or intersections. Look for cars in all directions, including those turning left or right.<\/p>\n

Halloween Parties:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Safety Tips for Attendees<\/strong><\/p>\n

Before drinking, choose a designated driver, or schedule a ride-sharing, ride-hailing or taxi service.<\/p>\n

If you drink, do not drive for any reason. Even a small amount of alcohol can affect driving ability.<\/p>\n

Safety Tips for Hosts:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be responsible and take action to make sure guests get home safely.<\/p>\n

Prepare to call taxis ride-shares, provide sleeping accommodations, or \u2014 if you\u2019re sober \u2014 drive guests home yourself.<\/p>\n

Collect car keys from guests who are drinking.<\/p>\n

Provide non-alcoholic beverage options.<\/p>\n
