HarperCollins Publishers one of the worlds largest book publishers announced today it will build a state-of-the-art supply chain logistics facility in Brownsburg, Indiana. The new 160 million dollar, 1.6 million-square-foot hub is set to open in 2028. The facility will be located on the west side of the Ronald Reagan Logistics Center, near the south west corner of the intersection of I-74 and Ronald Reagan Parkway.  <\/p>\n

The facility is expected to create more than 400 supply chain logistics jobs by 2029 and an additional 375 jobs during the construction phase.<\/p>\n

This new facility will utilize automation to increase efficiency, speed, and reliability. With the capacity to ship more than 300 million books annually, it will allow for continued HarperCollins growth and future acquisitions.<\/p>\n

Also known as Project Tahoe<\/strong>
\nCode Named Project Tahoe<\/a><\/span> as it progresses through Town of Brownsburg governance. At the August 14th Council Meeting the council approved on first reading a 155 million dollar 10 year personal property tax abatement.  “Once the abatement period has ended, this project has the potential to generate an estimated $1.2M in personal property taxes annually.\u201d A public hearing on the tax abatement will be held during August 28th during the regularly scheduled Town Council Meeting.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

August 28th HarperCollins Confirmatory Resolution – All Documents<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

HarperCollins also applied for a 10 year 5.5 million dollar Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE)<\/a><\/span> – Payroll Tax Credit from the State of Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IDEC).<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

HarperCollins also applied for an AES Economic Development Rider.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

The facility is expected to create 275 jobs in 2028 and 137 jobs in 2029 totaling 412 with an average wage of approximately $30.00 per hour.<\/p>\n

Based on plans reviewed at the August 25th Advisory Plan Commission Meeting – 
\nHarperCollins plans to construct a new 1,593,000 square-foot warehouse, with potential to expand 394,240 square feet.<\/p>\n

HarperCollins Economic Incentives<\/strong><\/p>\n

Town of Brownsburg Materials<\/a><\/span>
\nTown of Brownsburg staff recommends approval of a 10 year personal property tax abatement. Approval of this abatement will help facilitate a $155M personal property investment in the community that will generate an estimated $5.9M in personal property tax revenue over the next 10 years. Once the abatement period has ended, this project has the potential to generate an estimated $1.2M in personal property taxes annually. – August 14tth, Town Council Meeting<\/em><\/p>\n

The Brownsburg Sentinel has confirmed this is the only incentive offered by the Town of Brownsburg.<\/p>\n

\n<\/em>AES Indiana Economic Development Custom Incentive Programs<\/span><\/a>
\n<\/em>AES Indiana Custom Incentives offers rebates and incentives to designed to help businesses reduce capital investment for energy-saving projects, while benefiting from reducing long-term energy costs. <\/p>\n

AES Indiana Generic Economic Development Rider<\/a><\/span>
\nThis Rider shall be available, at the AES’s option, to non-residential Customers receiving service from the Company under Rates SL, PL, PH, and HL. This Rider is available for new or increased service requirements that result in increased employment opportunities or whose operations will promote economic development based on plant investment.<\/p>\n

State of Indiana – Economic Development Corporation Incentives
