The new 160 million dollar, 1.6 million-square-foot hub is set to open in 2028. The facility will be located on the west side of the Ronald Reagan Logistics Center, near the south west corner of the intersection of I-74 and Ronald Reagan Parkway.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The facility is expected to create more than 400 supply chain logistics jobs by 2029 and an additional 375 jobs during the construction phase.<\/p>\n<p>This new facility will utilize automation to increase efficiency, speed, and reliability. With the capacity to ship more than 300 million books annually, it will allow for continued HarperCollins growth and future acquisitions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Also known as Project Tahoe<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1ljoHMoxiplZdBSZwXAbhcMx1XXL5ixL1\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Code Named Project Tahoe<\/a><\/span> as it progresses through Town of Brownsburg governance. At the August 14th Council Meeting the council approved on first reading a 155 million dollar 10 year personal property tax abatement.&nbsp; &#8220;Once the abatement period has ended, this project has the potential to generate an estimated $1.2M in personal property taxes annually.\u201d <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.brownsburg.org\/Calendar.aspx?EID=2120\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">A public hearing on the tax abatement will be held during August 28th during the regularly scheduled Town Council Meeting.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/drive.google.com\/file\/d\/1duR_KViBrhu7fMDJTRE8aPxQLMEjg_ex\/view?usp=sharing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">August 28th HarperCollins Confirmatory Resolution &#8211; All Documents<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>HarperCollins also applied for a 10 year 5.5 million dollar <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/iedc.in.gov\/indiana-advantages\/investments\/economic-development-for-a-growing-economy-tax-credit\/overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE)<\/a><\/span> &#8211; Payroll Tax Credit from the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/iedc.in.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">State of Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IDEC).<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>HarperCollins also applied for an <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\"><a style=\"color: #3366ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.aesindiana.com\/sites\/aesvault.com\/files\/2024-05\/Rider-27-Economic-Development-Rider-45911-Effective-05-09-24.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AES Economic Development Rider.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The facility is expected to create 275 jobs in 2028 and 137 jobs in 2029 totaling 412 with an average wage of approximately $30.00 per hour.<\/p>\n<p>Based on plans reviewed at the August 25th Advisory Plan Commission Meeting &#8211;&nbsp;<br \/>\nHarperCollins plans to construct a new 1,593,000 square-foot warehouse, with potential to expand 394,240 square feet.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From the Press Release<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u201cHarperCollins has experienced significant transformation and growth over the last 15 years, and now is the time to expand our North American footprint.&nbsp; This state-of-the-art facility is an investment in our authors, our customers, and the future of our business, positioning us for growth.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited about the potential opportunity to partner with the state of Indiana, town of Brownsburg, and AES Indiana to bring this project to fruition, pending the final approval of all local, state, and electric utility economic development incentives previously committed to the project,\u201d said <em>Brian Murray, president HarperCollins Publishers<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are thrilled that HarperCollins Publishers chose to build this state-of-the-art facility in Brownsburg.
