\nBrownsburg Fire Territory placed their new fire engine into service.<\/p>\n

The Story Continues:<\/strong>
\nAfter an extensive nationwide search a nearly 1 mil dollar Pierce pumper truck was purchased by the Brownsburg Fire Territory (BFT). The territory was lucky when it located the engine just six weeks out from it’s complete manufacture prior to being placed in dealer inventory. The normal build lead time is 36 months for fire engines and 48 months for ladder trucks. Next truck received additional Brownsburg specific equipment such as radios, decals, fittings and equipment. After testing and crew training regimen it was deemed ready for active service.  The truck is located at station 131, 55 East Main Street<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Past and present members of the fire fighting community, the Lincoln Township Trustee, a Brownsburg Town Council member and others attended the brief ceremony. The BFT Chief opened with a few words, then Capt. Justin Bates provided historical context to the Push In ceremony. It’s roots can be traced back to the days of horse drawn steam powered engines. Which needed a good cleaning after delivery before the firemen pushed it into the fire house. <\/p>\n
