I have received the final report from our most recent evaluation from ISO. I am pleased to report that the Brownsburg Fire Territory has maintained the rating of a class 1 fire department. The Territory increased slightly over our last evaluation in 2019. We have strategies in place and will continue to strengthen areas of the organization over the next 2 years to assure we maintain our class 1 rating.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The ISO, or Insurance Services Office, provides a numerical rating, ranging from 1 to 10, known as the ISO rating. This score evaluates the effectiveness of public fire protection in a community, considering factors such as the fire department, emergency communications, water supply, and community risk reduction. A lower ISO rating, like Brownsburg Fire Territory’s score of 1, reflects excellent fire suppression capabilities. We are one of 5 in the state to hold this rating and one of over 700 across the nation.<\/div>\n
