Oct 11, 2023<\/strong> – The Brownsburg Town Council scheduled a special meeting to present preliminary concept information regarding the Aquatic Center Project. The public will be provided an opportunity to review project details and provide feed back.  The meeting will begin at 6pm with a brief presentation, followed by an open house from 5:30pm to 8:00pm. The third and final public input session is scheduled for November 14th, 6:00pm Town Hall.<\/p>\n

Meeting Agenda:<\/strong><\/p>\n

5:30 p.m.<\/strong> – The Town Council Room doors will open. Staff members will distribute comment cards to attendees, and a sign-up sheet will be available for those who wish to speak publicly.<\/p>\n

6:00 p.m.<\/strong> – The meeting and recording begins. Staff will give the presentation.<\/p>\n

6:30 p.m.<\/strong> – Q&A portion of the meeting. Those who wish to comment will be called in the order they have signed up. Each commenter will be allocated 3 minutes. A staff member will take note of all the questions raised. Staff will address all questions after the Q&A session.<\/p>\n

7:00 p.m.<\/strong> \u2013 Recording will end. The Open House\/Breakout Session will begin. We’ll have two stations, each with storyboards showcasing the design. Town Council and staff will be on the floor to talk with residents.<\/p>\n

8:00 p.m.<\/strong> – The meeting ends.<\/p>\n

What is known about the project?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

On July 13th 2023, the Town Council unanimously passed resolution 2023-17 to pay for expenditures related to the Aquatic Center Project.  The resolution contained the following project description: <\/p>\n

THE AQUATIC CENTER PROJECT INCLUDES BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO:<\/strong><\/p>\n

A new aquatics center at Lincolnwood  Park – 315 W. Main Street in Brownsburg, IN:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Indoor Pool
\n\u2022 Outdoor Pool with Zero-Depth Entry
\n\u2022 Indoor and Outdoor Play\/Spray\/Slide Features
\n\u2022 Multi-Use Program Rooms
\n\u2022 Parks and Recreation Department Administration Offices
\n\u2022 Concessions
\n\u2022 Hardscape\/Landscape Decks and Buffers
\n\u2022 Site Parking<\/p>\n

The aquatic center will be designed to fit within the 51-acre parcel that will include future
\noutdoor recreation opportunities including multi-purpose fields, trails, natural features and other program components.<\/p>\n

At that time project was anticipated not to exceed 18 million dollars.  <\/p>\n
