The latest update on COVID cases and quarantines<\/span><\/p>\n

Dear BCSC families<\/span>,<\/h2>\n
\n

Tonight, the Board of School Trustees voted that effective Monday, December 20, 2021 the mask requirement for all BCSC students grades PK-12 will be withdrawn. This will allow parents of students ages 5-11 who choose to have their children vaccinated, time to be fully vaccinated before returning to school on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.<\/p>\n

After a full week in school after Fall Break, cases and quarantines slightly increased. Elementary cases went from 3 to 4, and BHS (4) and the middle schools (2) had their first cases to impact students since Fall Break. Our Week #12 numbers of positive cases and quarantines are listed below.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Dr. Jim Snapp read the following prepared statement to the  Board of School Trustees regarding his recommendation regarding COVID-19 mask protocols:<\/p>\n

 “Last week the CDC approved the COVID vaccine for students ages 5-11.  Vaccinations sites opened last Thursday for families desiring that option for their children.  Given the vaccination protocol and available options for families, it is reasonably expected that families can get the first-round vaccination in the next few weeks, followed by the three-week waiting period, the second-round vaccination and two more weeks for the vaccine to reach full strength before students return to school on January 4, 2022.<\/p>\n
